What MemoriesArchived does with your data

Last updated 1 November 2026.

What we process

The app reads your Snapchat export and writes restored photos and videos to a folder you choose. All of this happens on your computer: your photos, videos, captions, dates and locations are never sent to us.

Place names are looked up in a database that ships inside the app, so your locations are never sent to a map service. Your original export is only read, never changed.

What we store

To check your plan, the app sends our server scrambled codes made from your memories' random IDs (a one-way hash), and an invite code if you were given one. We scramble the codes a second time with a key only our server has, and store that, along with which memories have used the free allowance and, for paid plans, the Stripe customer and subscription IDs and the date your plan is paid to.

We can't turn those codes back into anything about you. We don't have your name, email, Snapchat username or anything from your files. If you joined with an invite, we keep the short label we gave that invite (such as which group of testers it was for). To stop abuse, our server counts requests per IP address for one minute at a time; the address is hashed before it's counted and isn't stored with your account.

This website and the server run on Vercel, which keeps short-lived request logs that include IP addresses. The database runs on Neon, encrypted at rest and reachable only over TLS. The one-minute request counters are kept by Upstash. There are no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts on this website.

What leaves your computer

Only the codes above, unless you choose to add your memories to your own Google Photos. Then you sign in to Google in your browser, and the app asks for permission to add photos and to see only the ones it added itself (so it can add back any you delete), not the rest of your library. The files go straight from your computer to your Google account, into an album called "Snapchat Memories", never through us. The key that keeps you signed in is stored on your computer, encrypted by your operating system, and you can disconnect in the app or in your Google Account settings at any time.

MemoriesArchived's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The app adds files to your library and checks which of its own uploads are still there; it doesn't read your other photos, and nothing it receives from Google is sent to us, sold, used for advertising or read by people.

Adding to Apple Photos happens on your Mac, through macOS, with permission only to add: the app can't see anything already in your library. If iCloud Photos is on, Apple then syncs them like any other photo.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe on its own checkout page. Stripe collects your card details and email under its own privacy policy. We never see your card number.

Stripe tells us which plan was bought and for how long it is paid.

The terms of use cover buying plans, cancelling and refunds.
